5 Maintaining the Purged Packed Inlet

Insert the adapter straight into the detector base as far as
possible.
5 Hold the adapter in this position and finger-tighten the nut.
6 Tighten an additional 1/4 turn with a wrench (for a 1/8-inch
column) or an additional 3/4 turn (for a 1/4-inch column).
