Horizontal rack mounting
Important! Before performing the procedure described below, please be aware of
the following:
• There are important mounting rules which must be observed during the
installation process (see Appendix A, “Mounting rules”).
• The horizontal rack mounting is only possible in conjunction with 600 mm
(depth) racks.
Proceed as follows to mount the 1643 AM unit into a rack horizontally:

Fix both brackets to the 1643 AM unit with four M3x8 screws and washers.
Important! Adjust the brackets correctly according to the used rack (19-inch or
ETSI) as shown in Figure 3-10, “Fixing horizontal rack brackets (AM unit)”
(p. 3-15).

Mount the 1643 AM unit to the rack with four hexagon bolts M6x16.
