Vertical rack mounting
Important! Before performing the procedure described below, please be aware of
the following:
• There are important mounting rules which must be observed during the
installation process (see Appendix A, “Mounting rules”).
• Dependent on the rack type one of the following AM vertical mounting kits is
needed for performing the procedure described below: CC109528356 (for ETSI
rack) or CC109528349 (for 19” rack).
Proceed as follows to mount 1643 AM units into a rack vertically:

Mount two bars which are part of the AM vertical mounting kit to the rack with four
hexagon bolts M6x16 as shown in Figure 3-12, “Vertical mounting (AM unit)”
(p. 3-16). The distance must be 500 mm.

Fix both brackets to the 1643 AM unit with four M3x8 screws and washers as shown
in Figure 3-11, “Bracket mounting (AM unit)” (p. 3-16).

Mount the 1643 AM unit to the installed bars with four M4 screws as shown in Figure
3-12, “Vertical mounting (AM unit)” (p. 3-16). The power interfaces must show to the
bottom.
