Purpose
This chapter provides important mechanical mounting rules which must be observed
during physical installation.
General rules
The following rules must be observed in general:
• If any other equipment than AM/AMS units is mounted within the same rack, it is
highly recommended that a heat baffle (408905057) is mounted between the
AM/AMS units and the other equipment to assure thermal separation of the units.
• If the installation cannot guarantee proper air flow for cooling, it is recommended
to use AM/AMS units with mounted fan units.
• The unit ventilation holes mustn’t be covered.
• In the case of vertical unit mounting the power connectors of the units must show
always to the bottom due to thermic requirements.
