NOTES:
•
Please note that Alcatel-Lucent warranty is contingent upon the use of
Alcatel-Lucent specified SFPs for the 1643 AMS. Use of other SFPs is not
approved by Alcatel-Lucent and is fully at the customer’s own risk. Any
warranty obligation of Alcatel-Lucent is extinguished when non-Alcatel-Lucent
specified SFPs are used.
• It is not mandatory to have an LBO (Lightguide Build-Out) between the SFP and
the connected optical cable. However, in the case of measurements with optical
loops and/or connecting power meters an LBO (15 dB) can be required. An LBO
can also be necessary to ensure the correct input power (see chapter 8, section
“Connecting the fiber cables” (p. 8-2)).
• If no SFPs are used, the optical/electrical line interfaces must be equipped with
“Dust Plugs” (LPN: 700159437) to prevent dust and EMC emission. The dust plugs
are part of the1643 AMS delivery.
