7 Configure the parameters:
• Current OLC State
• User Label
8 Click on the States tab.
9 Configure the Administrative State parameter.
10 Click on the Ethernet tab. The Ethernet port configuration form opens with the
General tab displayed.
11 Configure the parameters:
• Duplex
• Auto-negotiate
• Advertised Capability
12 Configure the following parameters if you need to enable traffic storm control on
the ports. See “9500 MPR Ethernet port QoS schemes” in this section.
• Enable
• Unicast Frame Rate (Frames/sec)
• Multicast Frame Rate (Frames/sec)
• Broadcast Frame Rate (Frames/sec)
13 Configure the following parameters if you need to enable port rate limiting on the
ports. See “9500 MPR Ethernet port QoS schemes” in this section.
14 Click on the VLAN Rate Limiter tab if you need to police the input bandwidth on
dot1q VLANs. The Ethernet ports that support VLAN rate limiting are listed.

15 Choose an Ethernet port to apply VLAN rate limiting and click on the Properties
button. The VLAN Rate Limiter (Edit) form opens with the General tab displayed.
Note — Check the combinations that are supported for the Advertised
Capability parameter in the 9500 MPR User Guide.
• Ingress Enabled
• Ingress CIR (Kb/s)
• Ingress Max Burst (KB)
• Egress Enabled
• Egress CIR (Kb/s)
• Egress Max Burst (KB)
Note 1 — VLAN rate limiting should not be activated in conjunction
with port rate limiting configured in step 13.
Note 2 — You can enable up to eight VLAN rate limits on an Ethernet
port.
