The source IP address can only be set to the IPv4 address of a VLAN interface. IPv6 addresses are not supported.
The default source IP address is used in the following scenarios:
n The VLAN interface is not defined.
n The VLAN interface is deleted.
n The VLAN interface is a Layer-2 VLAN.
In the CLI
To configure the IP address of a VLAN interface, execute the following commands:
(host)(config) #interface vlan <vlan>
ip address <ipaddr>
To verify that the VLAN interface is configured properly, execute the following command:
(host)(config) #show running-config | begin “interface vlan <vlan>”
To set the source VLAN interface of the AMON feed, execute the following command:
(host)(config) #amon source-interface <vlan-num>
To verify that the source VLAN interface is set correctly, execute the following command:
(host)(config) #show running-config | include mgmt
To verify that the AMON feed is using the correct source IP address, execute tcpdump on the switch.
To remove the source VLAN interface of the AMON feed, execute the following command:
(host)(config) #no amon source-interface
To verify that the source VLAN interface is configured, execute the following command:
(host) #show amon source-interface
Inline Monitoring
Inline Monitoring helps diagnose client connectivity issues. It provides the network administrator or engineers
with more information regarding the exact stage at which the client connectivity fails or provides data where
the dhcp or radius server is slow.
The switch collects all information related to user transitions like association, authentication, and dhcp. Then,
the switch sends these records to a management server like OmniVista. The management server analyzes the
data and concludes which dhcp or radius server was not working efficiently causing user connectivity issues.
This enhancement allows the management server to isolate WLAN issues caused by external servers such as
dhcp or radius.
Currently, inline monitoring data will not be displayed or available for bridge mode RAP users.
Following are the advantages of inline monitoring:
n Improves user serviceability.
n Provides network administrator and engineers information on the client connectivity failures.
n Easier DHCP debugging.
Enabling Inline Monitoring Statistics
You can enable the Inline Monitoring statistics using the mgmt-server profile command in the CLIinterface.
