5.1.4.2 Traction, steering and track widening controls.
Attention: before carrying out any operation to move the machine, check that there are no people in the
vicinity or in the range of action of the machine. In any case, proceed with the utmost caution.
Before carrying out a traction movement with the platform raised, be sure that the ground on which you
intend to move has the characteristics described in the previous paragraphs.
Observe all the indications and prohibitions indicated in the SAFETY RULES chapter of this manual.
If you are in a condition in which the traction control is available (see indications of the LEDs), once the
controls have been activated using the START button (17), it is possible to control TRACTION FORWARD
/ REVERSE by simultaneously operating in the same direction and intensity of the two joysticks (1) (2) to
obtain straight travel, or with different intensity to obtain machine steering, remembering that the right
joystick controls the right track, and the left joystick controls the left track. By operating the two
joysticks (1) (2) in the opposite direction to each other, the counter-rotation of the traction tracks is
obtained with consequent steering of the machine around its central axis.
The TRACTION commands are proportional; it is therefore possible to modulate the speed of execution
of the movements according to the position of the proportional joysticks themselves.
5.1.4.2.1 Traction and steering control with DYNAMIC & PROACTIVE LEVELLING function.
The DYNAMIC & PROACTIVE LEVELLING functions are controlled by the selector (5). These automatic
functions allow you to operate safely on land whose slope changes gradually. The system is able to
compensate for a maximum inclination of 15° both in the longitudinal and lateral directions.
When the selector (14) is in the ON position, by commanding the drive with the machine in TRANSPORT
CONFIGURATION, the DYNAMIC LEVELLING function is active and:
- If the arm is lowered, the lifting of the arm is automatically activated in advance at an angle
of about 5° with respect to the rotation plane of the fifth wheel in order to increase the height
of the platform from the ground and reduce the risk of collision with the ground;
- Subsequently, the traction control is activated;
- During traction, when dealing with inclined terrain, the machine automatically controls the
levelling of the rotation plane of the fifth wheel in order to always keep the extensible
structure and the platform level.
When the selector (14) is in the ON position, the PROACTIVE LEVELLING function is activated by
commanding the drive (if allowed; see indications of the LEDs) with the machine out of the TRANSPORT
CONFIGURATION up to the maximum allowed translation height (see chapter TECHNICAL DATA) And:
- The traction stops automatically when the 1° inclination of the rotation plane of the fifth
wheel is exceeded. The operator must release the traction joysticks;
- By reactivating the traction control, the machine first controls the levelling of the turntable
rotation plane, and when the extendable structure and platform are levelled within 1°, the
traction control returns to function.
