Warm and cold
- Switching man ual recirculation mode on and
off: press l d<> I
- Au tomatic* recircul ation mode: au to recircula-
tion needs to be activated in the I nfotainment
system . Select in the Infota i nment system:
IMENU I button> Vehicle > left control button
>Vehicle settings > Air conditioning > Auto re-
ci rculation. The air quality sensor that is de-
si
gned for diese l and gasoline exhaust auto-
matically sw i tches the recircul ation mode on or
off depend ing on the level of poll u tan ts in the
ou tside ai r.
In recirculation mode, the air i nside the vehicle is
circulated
and filtered . This prevents the unfil-
tered air ou tside the vehicle from en tering the
vehicle inter ior. We r ecommend swi tc hing reci r-
culat ion mode on when dr iving th rough a tun n el
or when si tting in t raffic <::> .&. .
Recircul ation mode is switched off by pr essing
the 1- 1 bu tton or IAUTOI o rlw M AX I.
I@ MA X I Switching defrost on and off
The winds hi eld and si de windows are defrosted
or cleared of condensation as q ui ckly as possible.
The
optimum amou nt of air flows mainly out of
the vents un der the windshield. Recir culat ion
mo de switches off. The temper at ure is cont rolled
automatically.
The IAU T OI button switches the defroster off .
I O!il RE AR I Switching the rear window defogger
on and
off
If the rear wi ndow defogger is activated when
the igni tion is switched on, the battery manage-
men t dete rmi nes based on the bat te ry ch arge if
it is possible to turn on. Ot herwise, the rear wi n-
dow defogger functions with the engine running
and switches off automatically after approx i-
mately 10 - 20 min utes, depending on the out-
side temperature .
To prevent
the rear wi ndow defogger from
sw i tching off automatically, p ress and hold the
l liill REARI button for more than 2 seconds. This re-
mains stored up to approximately lS minutes af-
ter turn ing off the ignition.

A WARNING
You sho u ld not u se the recirculation mode for
an extended pe riod sin ce no fres h ai r is drawn
in. With t he air-conditioning switched off, the
windows can fog up, which incr eases t he risk
of an ac ci dent .

To adjust the direction of air flow, turn the
ridged outer adjustment wheel © <::> fig. 57 .
To adjust the amount of ai r flow , move the lever
@ on the air vent. To stop the air flow, move the
l ever all the way to the left.
Seat heating

The seat heat ing has three levels. The selected
heat level is i ndicated by the LED.
... To switch the seat heating on, pr ess the ~ but-
ton once.
... To switch to a l ower level, press the ~ button
again.

ton repeated ly until the LED turns off . .,..
