Segments in the visual display
The segments in front of and behind the vehicle
(vehi
cles with parking system plus*) r::!;> fig. 82
help you to determine the di stan ce between your
vehicle
and an obstacle. The red lines mark the
expected direction of travel according to the
steering angle . A white segment indicates an
identified
obstacle that is outside of the vehicle's
path. Red segments show ident ified obstacles
that are in your vehicle's path. As your vehicle
comes closer to the obstacle, the segments move
closer to the vehicle. The collision ar ea has been
reached when the next to last segment is di s-
played. Obstacles in the co lli sion area, including
those outside of the vehicl e's path, are shown in
red.

The rearview camera is located above the rear li-
cense pl ate bracket . Make sure that the lens for
the parking system ¢ fig . 85 is not covered by de-
pos i ts or any othe r obstructions because th is can
