Mediant 1000B Gateway & E-SBC
Parameter Description

The DSP Detectors feature is available only if the device is
installed with a License Key that includes this feature. For
installing a License Key, see ''License Key'' on page
763.
 When enabled (1), the number of available channels is
reduced.
Number of Media Channels

media-channels
[MediaChannels]
Defines the maximum number of DSP channels allocated for
various functionalities such as transcoding, IP streaming, IP
conferencing.
The maximum number of media channels depends on the
number of installed Media Processing modules (MPM). For
more information, see DSP Channel Resources on page 207.
The default is 0.
Note:
 For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
 The SBC application does not require DSP channels. The
SBC application uses DSP channels only if media
transcoding is needed, where two DSP channels are used
per transcoding session.
 Other DSP channels can be used for PSTN interfaces.
[EnableIPMediaChannels]
Enables IP media channel support.
 [0] = Disable (default)
 [1] = Enable
Note:
 When the device is installed with an MPM, the parameter is
enabled by default.
 For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
[IPmediaChannels] This table ini file parameter defines the number of DSP
channels that are "borrowed" from each of the device's digital
modules for IP media functionality. The format of the ini file
table parameter is as follows:
[ IPMediaChannels ]
FORMAT IPMediaChannels_Index =
IPMediaChannels_ModuleID,
IPMediaChannels_DSPChannelsReserved;
[ \IPMediaChannels ]
For example, the below settings use 15 and 10 DSP channels
from modules 1 and 2, respectively:
IPMediaChannels 1 = 1, 15;
IPMediaChannels 2 = 2, 10;
Note:
 The value of DSPChannelsReserved must be in multiples of
5 (since the reservation is done per DSP device and not per
DSP channel).
 By default, the MPM is set to the maximum value of IPM
channels, therefore, there is no need to define it.
 By default, a digital module (i.e., TRUNKS module) is set to
0 IPM channels.

For DSP utilization options, see DSP Channel Resources on
page 207.
