7 Maintenance
7.1 General
Careful installation and maintenance are
essential for reliable operation of the robot
system.
Daily visual checks help avoid downtime.
Checks and servicing should be carried out and
worn components replaced at regular intervals.
Only use components of the same quality
(strength, material) and design.
Stoppages due to inadequate or improper
maintenance can result in excessive repair
costs and the robot system being out of
operation for long periods. Regular maintenance
is therefore essential.
Thorough maintenance requires the use of
machine cards for recording all servicing and
maintenance work as well as any detected
defects and repairs which are carried out.
The various operating conditions make it
impossible specify how often it is necessary to
check for wear and carry out servicing,
maintenance and repair work. Draw up a
servicing schedule to suit your own operating
conditions.
If you have any queries regarding robot
maintenance or repairs, please contact our
service engineers or one of our subsidiaries.
If you decide to take advantage of a service
contract, we will be able to ensure that your
robot is properly serviced and maintained.
Please contact out Customer Services
Department. The address of your contact
person can be found in Section 9 Customer
Services.
It is important to adhere to the safety regulations
specified in the ”Safety” section.
Shut down the robot system at the main
switch and secure it against accidental start-
up before carrying out any maintenance or
repair work!
