Maintenance
Guiderails normally have a service life of
12,000 operating hours when handling
weights of up to 8 kg. (18 lb.), provided the
robot is operated in accordance with its
intended use and the following conditions
are adhered to.
Use the correct regreasing compounds
depending upon how the rails are used and any
ambient factors.
We recommend you use DIN 51825 K2K
lubricating grease.
In the case of heavier loads, use Consistency
grade NLGI 2 acc. DIN 51818 / KPZK.
First lubrication:
First lubrication involves using a total of
3 separate amounts of grease as specified in
the table.
1 Apply the first amount of grease to the
guide unit as specified in the table.
2 Move the guide unit back and forth with
three double strokes covering at least 3x
the length of the unit.
3 Repeat 1 and 2.
4 Make sure that there is visible layer of
grease on the guiderail.
Regreasing:
Regreasing intervals for Sizes 15 and 25 under
normal operating conditions are: 1000 km (620
miles) stroke distance
Size 35: 500 km (310 miles) stroke distance
Shorter regreasing intervals are recommended
in cases where it is necessary to take into
account ambient factors such as dirt, vibration
and impacts.
