1. Select Stop [F4] in the ReadA application button bar.
2. Select Process Vision [F12] > PVContainer Store.
3. In the Z-Axis section of the screen, select Step Up until the value shows 6890, or
alternatively, enter 6890 in the input field with the virtual keyboard.
4. Select Goto, then select Close.
5. The manipulator will now be in the proper position to remove the humidification pan when
needed.
Empty the humidification pan
1. Select Unlock door [F8] to release the door lock.
2. If applicable, turn off the CO
2
supply.
3. Open the ReadA door and place the door guard.
4. Remove the bottom plate at the back of the manipulator pillar.
5. Slide the bottom plate and the humidification pan toward you (approximately 30 cm).
6. Place a shallow plastic bowl underneath the opening at the front.
7. Use a microfiber wipe to carefully wipe any remaining water from the pan into the shallow
plastic bowl.
Clean the humidification pan
1. Remove the bottom plate and the pan from the incubator.
2. Clean the pan with the recommended cleaner/disinfectant.
3. Remove any residual cleaning agent with a microfiber wipe moistened with clean water.
4. Place the humidification pan and bottom plate into the incubator.
5. Close the ReadA door.
6. If applicable, turn on the CO
2
supply.
7. Select Lock Door [F8], then select Start [F2] to start the module.
5.4.3.2 Refilling the humidification pan
In general, filling the humidification pan is only necessary when the following four conditions
are met:
l
The relative humidity inside the ReadA is lower than 60%.
l
The ambient relative humidity is lower than 30%.
l
There are less than 300 fresh plates stored per day.
l
Plates require more than three days incubation.
If during the course of testing, media shows signs of drying, including cracks in the agar
surface and the agar pulling away from the plate at the edge, the humidification pan will need
to be filled.
