6 Troubleshooting
This section describes error notification, error resolution, and the error messages and codes
displayed when the ReadA module cannot properly complete operation due to mechanical,
electronic, or software-related problems.

ALL PATIENT SPECIMENS AND MICROBIAL CULTURES ARE POTENTIALLY
INFECTIOUS AND SHOULD BE TREATED WITH UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS.
REFER TO THE CDC MANUAL BIOSAFETY IN MICROBIOLOGICAL AND
BIOMEDICAL LABORATORIES, 6TH EDITION, 2020, AS WELL AS OTHER
RECOMMENDED LITERATURE.
6.1 Resolving errors
When an error condition occurs, the user is alerted in multiple ways:
1. An audible alert sounds, if it is enabled.
2. The instrument status tile on the BDSynapsys™ Informatics Solution dashboard displays
an error status on the corresponding ReadA module.
3. The ReadA application informs the user of the error location and resolution.
CAUTION
When the system notifies you of alerts and errors, you should immediately
respond to the condition. If the recommended corrective actions do not solve the
problem, contact BD.
