The motor FPGA performs various functions. The main function is to control the
speed of the motor and to decode the encoder signals from the back of the
motor. It also scans the keyboard, provides valve control, tests the air detectors
and watchdog functions.
A display driver circuit provides level shifting for the 0 to 5 volt logic circuits down
to –105 to –100 volts.
A buffering circuit provides the necessary driving capacity to drive the cable to
the power module.
An array of comparators is used to sense the signals from the keyboard on the
touch screen panel.
