Testing the Query/Retrieval Setup
Use the following steps to test the Query/Retrieval setup of both the
DICOM Q/R SCP device and Virtua.
1. Test the Virtua configuration on the DICOM Q/R SCP device by
initiating a study store from the DICOM Q/R SCP device,
specifying Virtua as the destination. Verify that the study is
received by Virtua and that it can be recorded to disc.
2. Go to the
Query/Retrieve
tab on the Virtua Studies screen to
make sure that the tab is available and that a default
configuration file is created.
3. Configure the DICOM Q/R SCP device and Virtua AE titles in the
qrscu.default.txt
file on the Virtua SmartDrive. For a list of the
parameters in this file, refer to Table 3-6 on page 3-35.
4. Test the Query functionality by performing a query. For
information about how to perform a query, refer to “Querying
and Retrieving Studies” on page 4-4.
If an error message displays, then the DICOM Q/R SCP
device information in the Virtua
qrscu.default.txt
file is
probably incorrect.
If no error message displays, then the query was successful,
and the list of matching studies is displayed.
If no results are returned, try another query with different
criteria. Consult with someone familiar with the DICOM Q/R
SCP device to understand how their parameters are
assigned, and what would make for a legitimate study query.
