Codonics Virtua User’s Manual 4-11
Sending and Retrieving
Studies to Virtua
Privacy Concerns
The query results contain patient information, including name, ID,
and study date and time. As with other Virtua device features, the
Query/Retrieve function is available only to logged in users, which
provides a mechanism for limiting access to patient information.
Potential Retrieval Limitations
Each study that is selected for retrieval requires a separate message
to be sent to the DICOM Q/R SCP device. Because of possible
limitations in the Q/R SCP device’s ability to handle a large number
of retrieval requests in succession, it is recommended that you do
not attempt to retrieve more than 20 studies at a time.
It is also recommended that you verify that the studies selected for
retrieval are actually received by comparing those selected on the
Query/Retrieve
tab with those received on the
Studies
tab.
In the event of a retrieval failure, try retrieving the studies one at a
time. This is the most reliable retrieval technique, and the easiest to
verify manually.
