Selecting Computer Setup or
Compaq Diagnostics for Windows
The computer features two system management utilities.
n Computer Setup is a system information and
customization utility that can be used even when your
operating system is not working or will not load. It
includes settings that are not available in Windows.
n Compaq Diagnostics is a system information and
diagnostic utility that is used within your Windows
operating system. Use this utility whenever possible to:
n Display system information.
n Test system components.
n Troubleshoot a device configuration problem in
Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000
Professional.
NOTE: It is not necessary to configure a device connected
to a USB connector on the computer or an optional
docking base.
Using Computer Setup
All information and settings in Computer Setup are accessed
from the File, Security, or Advanced menus. The items on
each of these menus are described in this section.
