Updating or Reinstalling Modem and LAN Drivers in
Windows 2000 Professional
IMPORTANT: To uninstall or reinstall modem or LAN drivers in
Windows 2000 Professional, you must log in to Windows
2000 Professional with Administrator privileges.
To update or reinstall modem and LAN drivers:
n First, uninstall the currently loaded modem and LAN
drivers.
n Second, install or restore the LAN drivers.
n Third, install or restore the modem drivers.
Uninstalling Modem and LAN Drivers
(Windows 2000 Professional)
1. Select StartàSettingsàControl Panelàdouble-click
Add/Remove Programs
àChange or Remove Programs.
2. Select Compaq 56K (V.90) Mini PCI from the list of
programs.
3. Select the Change/Remove button.
4. Select Yes to confirm the removal.
5. If you are prompted to restart the computer, select No.
Reinstalling LAN Drivers
(Windows 2000 Professional)
1. Select StartàSettingsàControl Panel, then double-click
System.
2. Select the Hardware tab and double-click Device Manager.
3. Double-click Network adapters, then double-click
Intel PRO/100+ MiniPCI.
4. Select the Driver tab, then click the Update Driver button.
The Upgrade Device Driver Wizard appears.
5. Click Next.
