5.2.3 Mute Control
Theamplifiermaybemutedviasoftwareordiscretecontrol:
Execute the MUT=1 command to “software” mute the unit. The Mute command provides over 75 dB of RF on/off isolation.
However,theMutecommandonlyturnsoffthefirstfewlowpowerstagesoftheamplifierthehighpowerstagesremainon.
By allowing the high
er power transistors to stay on, the amplifier remains in a more thermally stable state should the mute
condition be removed. If you desire to turn off the bias to the entire amplifier completely (perhaps to conserve energy in a
redundancysystem),youmustexe

Fornormaltransmitoperation,MUT=0andAMP=1arerequired.
