DM16E1 / DM4E1 Operation and Installation Manual - 204-4001-19 33
Bridge (B): Channel used by the bridge interface. The speed of data flow observed in this
interface depends on the number of channels chosen.
Pass Through (): This symbol indicates channels that are not being used. The data received
from the aggregate are directly returned to itself.
Router (R): Channel used for routing. The data are passed through directly to the WAN2 port of
the router. (See chapter on Network Parameters to obtain more information).
Management (M): Channel used to carry out management / DMLAN routing. If no E1 (2Mbit/s)
tributary position is configured for management / DMLAN routing, the 40kbit/s management
standard channel will be used. All devices that are part of the same link must reserve the same
position for the management channel, otherwise the connection with remote devices might be
lost.
3.11. Tests Menu
The /tests menu is similar to the /settings/ports menu presented above. See chapter 4.11 for further
information.
Whenever a test is activated in a port, information on the link (for aggregates and E1 tributaries) will
always be forced to “synchronization OK” status. The purpose of this measure is to prevent the
management channel from being overloaded because of a channel under maintenance. On the panel, this
condition can be observed when the Test led and the led of the tributary being tested are lit.

3.12. Status Menu
The /status menu is similar to the /settings/ports menu presented above. See chapter 4.10 for further
information.
The main purpose of this menu is to show the status of devices and interfaces. They also allow for the
operation of a few commands directly, without the need for activation.
