In the Put File menu:
Select octet in menu “Type”;
Select 512 in menu “Block”;
Indicate the file that is to be sent in the “Local File:” field;
Indicate the IP address of the target equipment in field “Remote host” (type IP number in the format
"xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx").
Click OK to start upgrading firmware.
14.3. Download via the Terminal Port
As you select the software download option, the multiplexer gets prepared for the reception of data and
indicates (on the screen) the moment when the file transmission can start. The process takes about 15
minutes, and the multiplexer identifies the end of the file automatically. Once transmission is concluded,
the equipment analyzes and validates the transmitted file, and then starts the upgrade.
The download for software upgrade should be made in a binary and continuous way.
The terminal should be configured to 9600bit/s without flow control, 1 stop bit and without parity bit. When
configuration is done with Windows 2000, it is recommended not to use the HyperTerminal, as it
presents some functional problems on this platform. Therefore, the use of Tera Term Pro, a freeware
software, is recommended. It can be downloaded at the following electronic address:

In this final stage of the process, the equipment should not be turned off. Once the upgrade is concluded
(approximatel
y 3 minutes after the end of transmission), the equipment will reset automatically and then
function normally with the new software.
We recommend that firmware downloa
d be made via TFTP, because download via the Terminal port is
extremely slow and takes about 15 minutes.
