• Alarms: Enables alarm generation by the port (in case of reception of LOS or AIS).
• Tests: Enables activation of tests in the interface.
• Transmit AIS: Selects either transmission of AIS to tributary outputs when LOS is detected in
aggregate, or automatic AIS insertion in accordance with G.742. Options:
− When LOS: AIS is transmitted whenever LOS is detected in an aggregate. Used for
normal channel operation.
− Forced: Forced AIS transmission. Used for channel testing.
It is not possible to generate a clock signal for an E1 tributary internally. The clock received at E1 ports is
always passed on to the next link, as long as the E1 signal is within the G.703 clock tolerances.
4.10. Status
The screen below shows the status menu for E1 ports (/status/ports/E1):

• Operation: Port activation. Indicates Active if the card is enabled.
• Current Tests: Type of test running at the port. Values for E1 ports are None, Running LDL, and
Running LAL.
• Link: Status of data received at the port. This status is also indicated by panel leds:
