Alarms: Configures alarm generation via the port. The Bridge port generates an alarm every time
the Ethernet link is lost; when the inverse multiplexing option is active, an alarm is generated
every time an E1 channel is lost.
Flow Control: Enable / Disable. When enabled, this option activates a bandwidth limiter on the
LAN WAN transmission direction in order to minimize the loss of packets in cases of overload.
Bridge Mode: Allows to select the operation mode:
Autonegotiation: speed (10/100Mbps), mode (half/full duplex) and flow control
negotiated with remote port;
100BaseTX FullDuplex forced;
100BaseTX HalfDuplex forced.
Inverse Multiplexing: Enables Bridge with Ethernet inverse multiplexing.
Inverse Multiplexer Clock: Configures the Bridge clock as internal or regenerated. This
configuration only has effect when the Bridge is working with inverse multiplexing.
Inverse Multiplexer Management: Enables management of the equipment when using Inverse
Multiplexing. The information of management flows through in packets inside the E1 channels, at
a medium rate of 50Kbit/s*, independent of number of channels used.
Inverse Multiplexer Scrambler: When inverse multiplexer management is enabled the equipment
can add a scrambler
in data transmitted at E1 channels. Enabling this option cause scrambler to be
inserted, otherwise data will be sent transparently.
Propagate WAN Status: Enables the interface link to go down if the bridge WAN side (E1´s physic
or aggregate loop) will present faults on all channels. It is useful to signal that this port should not be used
(because it is down) by the equipment connected to the DM16E1 bridge Ethernet.
The management rate on the Inverse Mux Management is 50kbit/s approximately, occupying
62.5kbit/s, from the bridge WAN. The difference is deriving from overhead losses.
Once the equipment is used as inverse multiplexer Ethernet only, it is recommended to activate t
he
“Inverse Multiplexer Management” object. This setup is applied to cases, where the E1´s of inverse
multiplexers go through different paths by E1 network, assuring the operation with clock breakup up to
100ppmm amongst the channels. Once there is an equi
pment at the E1 network set as clock master, it is
recommended to set both DM16E1/DM4E1 on an inverse multiplexer link to the internal clock.
