IP Endpoints Tab
49
Use Local Address - Use the IP Endpoint's local address in SIP Packets. This is the
default option
Use External Address - Use the external IP Address of the eSIP Endpoint. Selecting
this option enables the External IP Address field so it can be manually entered
Use STUN - Use a STUN Server to determine the external IP Address of the eSIP
Endpoint. Selecting this option will also test exchanging information with the STUN
Server to ensure it works (some firewalls prevent STUN from working)
External IP Address - If the Use External Address option has been selected, enter the
external IP Address of the eSIP endpoint. If the Use STUN option has been selected,
this will be automatically determined by communicating with the STUN Server (press the
FIND ALL button after the endpoint has rebooted to see the IP Address)
STUN Server - Enter the DNS of a private STUN Server or use a public stun server such
as stun.stunprotocol.org with a port of 3478
STUN Status - If the Use STUN option has been selected, the results of the STUN test
will be displayed
Keep-Alive Period (30-285) - The IP Endpoint generates a keep alive signal by sending an
Options packet to the SIP server. The value can be set from 30 to 285 seconds
Register retry period (1-255) - Unless directed by Digital Acoustics, do not use this field. On a
failed SIP Registration the IP Endpoint automatically varies the retry period based upon the
number of failed attempts
Default to Listen - For Half-Duplex SIP calls, this option enables the Phone Operator to
automatically listen to the user at the IP Endpoint when the call is initiated. The phone operator
can press 0 on the phone to toggle the direction of speaking and listening. This option is ignored
if the SIP Full-Duplex option has been enabled
Peer-to-peer - Checking this option will enable SIP peer-to-peer operations. The SIP Server and
SIP Registrar fields will be disabled and ignored. The eSIP Endpoint can communicate with other
SIP devices as long as the "called extension's" IP Address is included in the Extension that is
being dialed (ie 6000@10.0.0.100 where 6000 is the extension and 10.0.0.100 is the IP Address
of the SIP peer)
Always Connected - This rarely used option is only enabled when the Peer-to-Peer
option has been enabled. This option will cause the eSIP device to always "be
connected" to the Out Dial Extension. If this device is ever disconnected, it will
automatically initiate a peer-to-peer connection to the out dial extension
Register is Proxy - Some SIP Servers use the IP Address of the Register as a Proxy Address.
SIP/TCP - Checking this box will force the eSIP endpoint to use TCP instead of UDP for all SIP
communication. Please note that TLS is not supported
Re-REGISTER with fresh credentials - Don not use this option unless directed by Digital
Acoustics Support. The IP Endpoint will automatically refresh the credentials anytime a 401
response is received from the SIP Server
