Enter the Multicast Port to transmit the noise levels on Digital Acoustics' registered Multicast
Address of 224.0.23.59. Only one ALC Detector should be configured with this port
Select the Microphone Sensitivity from the drop down list (Low, Medium or High). The Mic
Sensitivity will determine how aggressively the ambient noise level will be monitored
Press the Save button
Measuring the Normal Ambient Noise Level
To automatically detect the Normal Ambient Noise Level for an area:
Configure the ALC Detector as described above
Activate the ALC Detector's Senor (J3-5 and J3-6) for 5-10 seconds to have the Microphone
listen to the current ambient noise. The Normal Ambient Noise Level will be automatically
saved as Custom (99) where 99 is the ambient noise value that was detected
Open the Admin Console, select the IP Endpoints --> General --> Options 1 tab and press the
FIND ALL button to see the detected value
Please note that value Custom (99) is a relative energy level that is converted to dB at a later
time
Configure an ALC Enabled IP Endpoint
Use the Vol+ and Vol- buttons on the IP7 to set its normal volume level
In the Admin Console, select the IP Endpoints --> General --> Options 1 tab
Very Important - Press the FIND ALL button. This will read the current Volume Level and
ensure that it is saved along with all of the other IP7's configuration information
Select ALC Enabled from the drop down
Enter the Multicast Port that the associated ALC Detector is transmitting on
The Normal Ambient Noise Level and Microphone Sensitivity are not used
Press the Save button
