Printing Styles
Intermittent
In this mode the SmartDate X65 is designed to print onto stationary substrate materials. The
material is held stationary for printing and after the print is completed, the material is indexed to
the next printing position.
• SmartDate X65 combined in intermittent mode has a printing area 53mm width by 75mm
length
• SmartDate X65-128 combined in intermittent mode has a printing area 128mm width by
75mm length
Continuous
In this mode the SmartDate X65 is designed to print on to moving substrate. The printhead
is held in a xed position and the ribbon is accelerated to match the substrate speed before
printing. An encoder is used to track the speed of the material being printed onto.
• SmartDate X65 combined in continuous mode has a printing area 53mm width by 750mm*
length
• SmartDate X65-128 combined in continuous mode has a printing area 128mm width by
500mm* length
• SmartDate X65 shuttled has a printing area 53mm width by 100mm length.
