Print ‘bleed’
Too much energy is being supplied to the printhead. Check the print
darkness settings are appropriate for the application. Set the darkness
settings to the lowest possible value that produces acceptable print
quality.
Vertical lines in the print
Clean the printhead. Ink residue and other contaminents can build up
on the printhead and cause a reduction in print quality. The printhead
should be cleaned at regular intervals
Check for failed printhead elements; you may need to enable this
feature rst. Use the print adjust feature to move the print away from
any failed printhead elements or replace the printhead.
Irregular lines in the print
Check the ink ribbon for signs of creasing the most likely cause of
which is printer misalignment. Check the printhead is parallel with the
print roller/platen.
Blank areas in the print
Check the print roller/platen for damage. The print roller/platen is a
wear item and should be replaced regularly.
