VF4 Infinity Gamma Series Page 5-19
Message: V Fib
Parameter value: VF
Detection of a ventric-
ular fibrillation. The
ventricular rhythm is
chaotic.
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
• View each lead on the mon-
itor and check the ampli-
tude. To detect the QRS,
the amplitude should be at
least 0.5 mV on the mV
scale.
• Reposition or change the
electrodes if the amplitude
is still low.
• Use good skin preparation.
Message: V Tach
Parameter value: VT
n or more consecutive
PVCs have been
detected with a beat-
to-beat rate greater
than or equal to the
VT rate set in the
Alarm Tables. (n = VT
count parameter)
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
Message: Bradycardia
Parameter value: BRDY
8 or more consecutive
QRS complexes have
been detected with a
beat-to-beat rate less
than 80% of the
patient’s normal rate.
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
Message: RUN
Parameter value: RUN
3 to N-1* consecutive
PVCs with a beat-to-
beat rate >= the VT
rate
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
Message: AIVR
Parameter value: AIVR
3 or more PVCs with a
rate < the VT rate
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
Message: SVT
Parameter value: SVT
N* or more consecu-
tive normal beats with
a beat-to-beat rate >=
the SVT rate
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
Message: CPT
Parameter value: CPT
A sequence of beats
with the pattern: nor-
mal, PVC, PVC, nor-
mal
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
Message: BGM
Parameter value: BGM
A sequence of beats
with the pattern: nor-
mal, PVC, normal,
PVC, normal
• Observe the patient and
treat if clinically indicated.
