1-1. MC Unit
The MC unit controls the whole machine by the 8-bit microprocessor. It also incorporates a motor, fan, and solenoid
driving circuit. It has a built-in DC converter which generates +5 V with the DC +24 V power supply input. A DC +5 V
power supply is used for ICs and sensors while a DC +24 V is used for driving the motor, fan, and solenoid.
The board is mounted with four microprocessors and one ROM. Of the four microprocessors, one performs main
control, one performs communication control of the line connected to the control panel and MK unit, one performs
communication control in the MC unit, and the last one controls the paper feed mechanism. The ROM is a 1M-byte
EPROM written with the main control program. The microprocessor for communication control and paper feed
mechanism control is a one-chip 8-bit microprocessor. The control program is written in the built-in ROM of each
microprocessor.
1-2. OP Unit (Control Panel)
The control panel is controlled by a one-chip 8-bit microprocessor. It is mounted with a 16-character 2-line liquid
crystal display and a jog dial. The control program is written in the built-in ROM of the microprocessor. It is connected
with the MC unit by communication.
1-3. MK Unit
The MK unit controls the end mark sensor by a one-chip 8-bit microprocessor. The control program is written in the
built-in ROM of the microprocessor. Using the pulse from the index sensor, the MK unit detects the end mark position,
state, etc. according to the signal from the end mark sensor. It is connected with the MC unit by communication.
1-4. End Mark Sensor (Upper/Lower)
Sensor for detecting the end mark.
1-5. Conveyance Motor
DC +24 V power supply brushless motor. Drives the main conveyance section.
1-6. Index Sensor
Uses a photointerrupter. When the conveyance motor rotates and the notch of the index disc attached to the motor
shaft passes by the sensor, the sensor outputs pulses at a fixed cycle. Used for control in the MK unit.
1-7. Paper Feed Tray A (B) Motor
DC +24 V power supply brush motor. Drives the paper feed tray A (B).
1-8. Paper Feed Tray A (B) Suction Fan
DC +24 V power supply DC fan. Used for sucking paper on the paper feed tray A (B).
1-9. Paper Feed Tray A (B) Separator Fan
DC +24 V power supply DC fan. Used for separating paper on the paper feed tray A (B).
1-10. Paper Feed Tray A (B) Paper Feed Clutch
Electromagnetic clutch for conveying paper according to the paper feed timing. Uses a DC +24 V power.
