Water cooling piping must be at least equal to or larger than its nominal diameter. In
case of a high w
ater cooling pressure supply close to 10 bar(g), it is recommended to
install a pressure relief valve (for example, at the inlet of the water cooler). Pressure
must not exceed 7 bar.
Full pump isolaon is crucial for ecient pump maintenance or replacement, we
recommend to equip isolaon valves for process inlet, cooling water inlet and a non-
return valve for exhaust outlet.
The discharge air can have a temperature up to 210 °C (410 °F), piping must be suitable
to handle this temperature.
Venlaon
The inlet grid(s) and venlaon fan must be installed in such a way that any recirculaon
of cooling air to the inlet grang of the vacuum pump is avoided. The air velocity to the
grid(s) has to be limited to 5 m/s.
The maximum air temperature at intake opening is 40 °C (104 °F), (minimum 5 °C / 41 °F)
Venlaon alternave:
The required venlaon to limit vacuum pump room temperature can be calculated
from:
Q
v
= 1.06 (N + Q
process
- Q
HE
) / T
Where,
Q
v
= required cooling air ow (m
3
/s)
N = Nominal motor power of vacuum pump (kW)
T = Temperature increase in vacuum pump room (°C)
Q
process
= Input thermal power from the process (kW)
Q
HE
= thermal exchange power of the heat exchanger (kW)
Venlaon alternave:
The fan capacity must match the fan capacity of the vacuum pump at a pressure head
equal to the pressure drop caused by cooling air ducts.
5.3 Lubricaon
The dry pumping systems are given a charge of oil before leaving the factory.
