Buttonhole
stitching
Cut the center of the buttonhole being
careful not to cut any stitches on either side.
Use a pin as a stopper at the bar tack so you
do not cut too much.
Please
Note:
When cutting the buttonhole with the seam
ripper, do not place your hands in the cutting
direction, otherwise injuries may result.
Making a
buttonhole
on stretch
fabrics
1
When sewing buttonholes on stretch fabric,
hook heavy thread or cord under the button-
hole foot.
Attach the buttonhole foot and hook the
gimp thread onto the back of the presser
foot.
Bring the two gimp thread ends to the front
of the foot and insert them into the grooves,
1
then temporarily tie them there. Lower the
presser foot and start sewing.
Set the stitch width to match the diameter of
the gimp thread.
2
Once sewing is completed, pull the gimp
thread gently to remove any slack, then trim
off any excess.
Please
Note:
It is suggested that you use interfacing on
the backside of the fabric.
