Telephone Operating Instructions
To complete the transfer, press the RELEASE button or hang up either before or
after the call is answered. The button indicator associated with the held call
changes to BUSY or IDLE. The DES button indicator changes to BUSY.
If the DES station does not answer before you release, press the CANCEL button
or the button associated with the call on hold to drop the DES connection and
return to the caller.
If the DES station answers before release but does not accept the call, press the
CANCEL button to drop the DES connection and return to the caller.
To transfer a call to an extension using a DES button on a telephone in the automatic
transfer operating mode (AUTO TRANSFER button operated):
Check the status of the DES button.
If the DES button indicator is IDLE or FLASHING (extension is idle or busy on
another line), press the DES button. The call is automatically transferred and your
telephone is released. The transferred call's button indicator changes to IDLE or
BUSY. The DES button changes to BUSY.
If the DES extension does not answer, the call will be redirected in accor-
dance with the trunk's class-of-service programming, or the DES extension's
busy/don't answer intercept programming.
To camp on a busy extension using a DES button:
Lift the handset.
Press the busy DES button. You hear busy tone. The DES button indicator
changes to ACTIVE.
Press the CAMP-ON button or the TRANSFER HOLD button.
When you hear second dial tone, dial the Camp-On access code. You hear
confirmation tone. The CAMP-ON button indicator changes to BUSY.
To set up automatic callback, hang up. The DES button indicator changes to
BUSY.
To camp a trunk call on a busy extension using a DES button:
Press the busy DES button. You hear confirmation tone. The trunk is camped on
the busy extension and your telephone is released. The trunk call's button
indicator changes to IDLE. The DES button indicator changes to P-HOLD. Both
the trunk party and the camped-on party may hear camp-on tone.
When the camped-on extension becomes idle, it rings and the trunk party hears
ringback tone. The DES button indicator changes to BUSY.
A trunk call can be camped on a busy extension with a DES button only if
allowed by the station's COS programming.
To break in on a busy extension using a DES button:
Lift the handset.
