Telephone Operating Instructions
To return a telephone to the normal operating mode using the dial access code:
❖ Lift the handset.
❖ Dial the Direct Ring Prime access code. The DIRECT RING PRIME button
indicator changes to IDLE. The EXT button indicator changes to ACTIVE. You
hear system dial tone.
❖ Hang up. The EXT button indicator changes to IDLE.
To make a direct ring prime call from a telephone in the normal operating mode:
❖ Lift the handset.
❖ Press the DIRECT RING PRIME button, or dial the Direct Ring Prime access code.
The DIRECT RING PRIME button indicator changes to BUSY. You hear system
dial tone.
❖ Dial the extension number or press the associated DES button. You hear ringback
tone. A communication path is established when the call is answered.
❖ Hang up when the call is completed. The DIRECT RING PRIME button indicator
continues to indicate BUSY.
❖ To exit the direct ring prime operating mode, press the DIRECT RING PRIME
button or dial the Direct Ring Prime access code. The indicator for the DIRECT
RING PRIME button changes to idle.
To make a direct ring prime call from a telephone in the direct ring prime operating mode:
❖ Lift the handset.
❖ Dial the extension number or press the associated DES button. You hear ringback
tone. A communication path is established when the call is answered.
❖ Hang up when the call is completed. The DIRECT RING PRIME button indicator
continues to indicate BUSY.
 If any appearance of the called extension number is busy, you hear busy tone.
If the called extension cannot be rung for any other reason, you hear reorder
tone.
To put your telephone in the Do-Not-Disturb operating mode while it is idle:
❖ Lift the handset.
❖ Press the DO-NOT-DISTURB button. The DO-NOT-DISTURB button indicator
changes to ACTIVE and you hear system dial tone.
❖ Dial a message number (0-9) or hang up. The DO-NOT-DISTURB button indicator
changes to BUSY. If your telephone has a display, message 0 or the do-not-disturb
message you selected will appear. Your telephone is aautomatically released and
the SPEAKER button indicator changes to IDLE. Any duplicate appearance of the
telephone's prime extension number will change to ACTIVE.
