Telephone Operating Instructions
❖ If internal calls are denied, anyone calling from a local telephone will hear Do-Not-
Disturb tone. If the calling telephone has a display, the calling party will seeDo-Not-
Disturb message 0 or the message you selected.
To put a telephone in the Do-Not-Disturb operating mode during a call:
❖ Press the DO-NOT-DISTURB button. The DO-NOT-DISTURB button indicator
changes to BUSY. If the telephone has a display module, Do-Not-Disturb message
0 will appear. Any duplicate appearance of the telephone's prime extension
number will change to ACTIVE.
❖ Complete the call. The telephone will remain in the do-not-disturb mode.
❖ If internal calls are denied, anyone calling from a local telephone will hear do-not-
disturb tone. If the calling telephone has a display, the calling party will see do-not-
disturb message 0.
To disable Do-Not-Disturb and return the telephone to normal operation, press any busy
DO-NOT-DISTURB button. The DO-NOT-DISTURB button indicator changes to IDLE.
The do-not-disturb message is cleared from the display.
A telephone may have more than one DO-NOT-DISTURB button, each
programmed to exclude a specific type of incoming call. More than one DO-
NOT-DISTURB button can be operated at the same time. When more than
one DO-NOT-DISTURB button is operated, the message selected after you
press the last button will be displayed.
To send a hookswitch flash to the system, or apply a ground to the ring lead of the trunk
your telephone is connected to, or send a hookswitch flash over the trunk to the system
at the far end, press the GROUND RECALL/ ELECTRONIC FLASH button.
The action of the GROUND RECALL/ ELECTRONIC FLASH button depends on the type
of call and the call status at the time the button is pressed.
A hookswitch flash cannot be sent to a digital trunk programmed for ISDN
service.
To put a call on hold:
❖ Press the HOLD button. There is no visual or audible indication of the HOLD
button’s selection. The button indicator of the line or trunk put on hold changes to
I-HOLD.
❖ Hang up.
To return to a call on hold, lift the handset and press the button associated with the held
call. The associated button indicator changes to ACTIVE.
If you leave a call on hold for longer than the programmed hold time limit, the
system will ring your telephone and you will be reconnected when you lift the
handset.
