4.2.7.10 Carriage Unit Removal
1. Remove the printer mechanism. (See Section 4.2.2.)
2. Remove the encoder belt. (See Section 4.2.7.9.)
3. Remove the tension spring from the belt pulley holder.

4. Push the belt pulley holder to the right (HP side) to fit the holder in
the cutout in the left frame, then push out the belt pulley holder to
the front.
5. Remove the spring fixing the paper thickness adjusting lever with
tension.
6. Release the hook securing the paper thickness adjusting lever to
the printer mechanism, then push the paper thickness adjusting
lever inward to remove it.

7. Remove the E-ring fixing the
carriage guide shaft and the
parallelism adjustment bushing
(right) and then the washer and
the spring washer to release the
parallelism adjustment bushing
(right). (Note the concave side
of the spring washer faces to
the printer mechanism side.)
8. Remove the screw fixing the
parallelism adjustment bushing
(right).
