6.1 Overview
This section describes how to solve problems when a printing
malfunction or maintenance request error has occurred. Observe the
instructions below to perform servicing appropriately. For solutions for
any other error conditions, refer to Chapter 3 “Troubleshooting”.
6.1.1 Maintenance
When a printing malfunction or Maintenance request error has
occurred, take appropriate measures described in the following sections
to solve the problem.
W ARNING
This C380 Main board in this printer has a lithium
battery on it. Observe the instructions below when
handling the battery.
Do not short-circuit the battery’s electrodes.
Mount the battery with its polarity in the right
direction, or it may explode.
Do not expose the battery to flames or excessive
heat.
CAUTION
Unplug the power cable from the AC power inlet
before cleaning the printer.
Never apply solvents such as thinner,
trichloroethylene, or ketone to clean the printer main
body. Use of a soft clean cloth is recommended. For
severe stain on the case, use thinned neutral
detergent. Wet a cloth with detergent and wring the
detergent well out of the cloth.
Do not use a hard brush for cleaning, or it may
scratch the case.
Be careful no to damage any interior parts when
cleaning inside the printer.
