Special Features
This is a category of features that doesn’t use the display to show information or is only activated on
the display under certain conditions with the focus of improving and adding additional features to
the vehicle.
12V Output driver
The purpose of this feature is to have a 12V controllable output where the user can configure eSID3
when to activate it. It can for instance be connected to Engine speed and to be used as a fast shift-up
LED, to Reverse Gear and used for reverse camera input on aftersales stereo or connected to a
manual switch input that controls a relay that in turns powers something else (use your imagination).
The different alternatives to control the output driver can be found in Settings part of this
document.
If the manual switch input wants to be used to control the output one cable in the eSID3-CableKit is
used for connecting it to the IP-Switch panel. If the Extra headlight switch is not used in the vehicle it
can be used, or if the vehicle has manual transmission the Sport mode switch can be used (which is a
dummy switch without any text on the MT cars). It is also possible to mount the AT version on MT-
cars to get rid of the dummy switch and get the text (they are electrically the same)
