5.9.1ComponentsforAlarm
NAV Controller consists of two basic components: one main module and one door module. Users can
additionallyinstallthreemoredoormodulesandonealarmmodule.
Thesethreetypesofmodulesareallequippedwithalarmfunction.Themainmodulehas2alarminputs
and2alarmoutputs,calledMainAlarm
OutputandAuxiliaryAlarmOutputrespectively.
Eachdoormodulehas2alarmoutputs,whichusuallyreacttoalarmeventsonthecorrespondingdoor.
However, it can be set to react to otheralarm eventsas well. Alarm outputs on the door module can
connectupto5Aexternalalarmdevices.
Thealarmmodulehas8alarminputsand8alarmoutputs.8alarminputscanconnecttoexternalalarm
input devices, such as PIR motion sensor, glass sensor and etc. 8 alarm outputs can connect up to 2A
externalalarmdevices.
Theabovementionedarephysicaldevicesprovidingalarmfunctions

can freely define the allocation of any input to any output. The following section outlines basic
conceptsforevents,alarmandconfiguration.
5.9.2AlarmConfigurationBasics
NAVControllerkeepstrackofalleventsintheaccesscontrolsystem,eitherlegalorillegal,eithernormal
orabnormal.Forexample,accessgranted,accessdeniedandsoon.
Someeventsare criticalwhichmusttriggerthe alarmoutput,like thefirm alarminput,thezonealarm
inputandetc.Butsomeeventsarenotthatimportanttotriggerthealarmoutput,likethedeniedaccess
duetotheinvalidtime.Thesesettingsalldependontheusers’requirements.NAVControllercollectsall
eventsthatmighttriggerthealarmoutputandprovidesthefullcapacitytoenableordisablethealarm
outputontheseevents.
Sometimes user wants to allocate a particular event to a particular alarm output, or allocate alarm
inputs in certain areato multiplealarm outputs.NAV Controllerdelivers allthe functionand flexibility
userneed.Usercandefinewhethercertaineventwilltriggeranalarm,andcanfurther
specifytowhich
alarmoutputthateventisallocated.
Alleventsthatmighttriggeranalarmarelistedbelow:
Alarminput0~9,unknowncard,expiredcard,invalidcard,invaliddoor,invalidtime,cardantipassback
fail,cardPINfail, SYSPINfail,ARMPINfail, doorforcedopen, door
heldopen,readerlost,andremote
alarm.
All these eventscan beallocated to any alarm relay output on main module, door module,and alarm
module.Thedetailedconfigurationmethodisintroducedinthefollowingsection.
