NOTE: In case a drain cock is not fitted on the radiator,
open the hose connection on the radiator base tank
After draining, flush the cooling system with clean
water via the radiator filler. After flushing, close the
radiator drain cock (if radiator drain cock is not fitted,
reconnect the hose and clip firmly). Refill the cooling
system via the radiator filler tube.
NOTE: To avoid trapping air in the system, fill the
radiator as slowly as practicable thereby allowing any
air pockets to disperse.
Check that the coolant level is flush with the bottom of
the filler tube.
Start and run the engine to circulate the coolant.
NOTE: The coolant level may drop as it is pumped
around the cooling system.
Stop the engine and top up the radiator with 50%
solution of clean water and antifreeze (or clean water
only if antifreeze is not available).

Draining and refilling the cooling system
WARNING: Antifreeze solution is irritating to
eyes and skin.
Ÿ Adhere to the precautions outlined on the
antifreeze container Avoid contact with eyes or
prolonged and repeated skin contact.
Ÿ Wear protective eye wear when using antifreeze.
Ÿ In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for 15
minutes and obtain prompt medical attention.
Ÿ Wash skin with soap and water after use.
Ÿ Keep out of reach of children.
With the engine cool, drain and refill the cooling
system, as follows :
Open the radiator drain cock, Figure 35 and allow the
coolant to drain. Remove the radiator cap at this stage
to increase the drainage rate.
!
IMPORTANT: It is essential that an approved radiator
cap is used. If the cap is mislaid or damaged, obtain a
replacement from your Authorized Dealer.
Allow the engine to cool and make a final check to
ensure that the coolant level is satisfactory.
WARNING : Wear eye protection when
charging the battery or starting the tractor with a slave
battery.
Connect positive to positive and negative to negative.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Alternator with integral regulator -12V, 90 Amp
Starter Motor -12V, Positive engagement, solenoid
operated.
6.25 Tractor Storage.
Before storing the tractor for an extended period, the
following precautions should be taken :
Ÿ Clean the tractor.
Ÿ Drain the engine, transmission and rear axle oil
and refill with fresh oil.
Ÿ Drain the fuel tank and pour approximately two
gallons of special calibrating fuel into the tank. Run
the engine for at least 10 minutes to ensure
complete distribution of the calibrating fuel
throughout injection system. See the next item
before running the engine.
Ÿ Check the radiator coolant level. If the coolant is
within 200 hours of the next change, renew the
coolant. Run the engine for one hour to disperse
the inhibitor throughout the cooling system.
Ÿ Lubricate all grease fittings.
Ÿ Engage clutch pedal lock when tractor is not in use
for long period of time or during storage of tractor.
Ÿ Raise the lift linkage hydraulically and support the
lift arms in the fully raised position.
Ÿ Lightly coat all exposed hydraulic piston rods with
petroleum jelly (silica gel) e.g., power steering
cylinder rams, spool valves, etc.
Ÿ Remove the battery and store in a warm, dry
atmosphere. Recharge periodically.
Ÿ Raise the tractor and place supports under the
axles to take the weight off the tires.
Ÿ Block the clutch pedal in the fully depressed
position.
