During operation, the SPC11 ensures that the moveable mass
is moved into the saved end positions and intermediate posi-
tions at the highest possible speed with closed-loop control.
Shortly before the taught end position or intermediate posi-
tion is reached, the moveable mass is braked so that it comes
to a stand.
In order that the moveable mass remains in the taug ht end
position, it is pressed against the fixed stop with a pr essure
equal at maximum to the operating pressure.
Advantages
Compared with pneumatic-impact drives with double-sole-
noid control, this closed-loop procedure permits higher posi-
tioning speeds. Also, the following measures, which would be
required for controlling a cylinder with a double-solenoid
valve, are no longer necessary:
the use of restrictors
the use of limit switches
the use of mechanical end position cushioning
(shock absorbers)
the maintenance of fixed stops.
Compared with pneumatic-impact drives with double-sole-
noid control, the SPC11 permits:
higher machine cycle times
less vibration of the system
lower maintenance c osts.
