Calibration
9.8 Creating new calibration
In the following cases, you have to record the influencing variables with a new cali-
bration in order to compensate for them when measuring.
You have determined during test measurements that none of the listed calibra-
tions is suitable for the specimen at hand.
If a new probe is connected as a replacement for a defective one
If a probe is connected with which no batch has been created in the gauge yet
Before you start
Refer to the notes on calibration, 54.
The probe with which the new calibration is to be performed (and to be stored)
is connected to the gauge.
Reference piece and/or calibration standards (calibration foils) are ready.
The parts you need depends on the specifications in the directives/standards
or the measurement accuracy required.
Overview of calibration methods, page 53
To be able to perform the calibration for the desired measurand (FN or Fe%), a
batch with the desired measurand (FN or Fe%) m ust be o pen be fore cre-
ating the new calibration!
To create a new calibration
1. Open the calibration menu New: > Calibrations > OK > New > OK.
2. Follow the routine and perform the desired calibration steps (Zero, Std. 1/2).
a "Calibration step Zero – Procedure", 56
b "Calibration step Std – procedure", 58
This completes the creation process for a new calibration. The calibration is stored
in the connected probe or in the DMP-F probe adapter under the probe identifier of
the connected probe.
Keep in mind that many calibrations can be stored in the probe/DMP-F probe
adapter. A unique name makes it easier to select and assign the desired cali-
bration to a batch.
