Trouble Shooting
Er7 Outlier measurement was
recognized during normal-
ization or calibration.
• Measurement on the cali-
bration standard was not
performed correctly.
Repeat normalization or cal-
ibration correctly (e.g. do
not hover with the instru-
ment/probe or do not lift off
the instrument too swiftly
after the measurement).
• Measurement was per-
formed on the calibration
foil instead of the uncoated
specimen (base).
Repeat all measurements
using the uncoated speci-
men.
• Measurement on a
creased calibration foil.
Replace calibration foil.
• Instrument/probe was not
placed perpendicular or
squarely on the specimen
or the calibration standard.
Perform all measurements
correctly with the instru-
ment/probe placed squarely
on the uncoated specimen
(base) or the calibration foil.
Er13 Readings of the calibration
foil are not in the admissible
interval range of the master
calibration.
Inform customer service.
Er17 Not enough readings.
• Calibration foil has been
measured only once.
2 measurements are neces-
sary as a minimum. To get a
better precision of calibra-
tion we recommend 5 to 10
measurements on the cali-
bration foil.
Er22 Internal instrument error.

ment memory.
