Analog Output (current loop, 0/4 – 20mA)
Galvanically isolated analog output signal, to stimulate output currents (0/4 - 20 mA). The
output signal is an active output with 16 Bit resolution, to drive a maximum resistive load of
500Ω. Just the acquired object temperature, measured by either 1C or 2C devices and
displayed on on the rear Endurance operators display, is converted to a 16 Bit current
equivalent. The user has to define the temperature measurement range and must assign
the lower and upper range limits to the current equivalent (0 – 20mA / 4 – 20mA).
The following formula demonstrates the output current (I
c)
calculation regarding the given
measurement span [upper temperature(T
U
) – lower temperature(T
L
)].
Given example values:
• Upper meas. Temp. (T
u
): 2000°C, Lower meas. Temp.(T
L
): 1000°C
• Choosen output current range: 4 – 20mA, I
CL
= 4mA at T
L
I
CU
= 20mA at T
U
• Actual meas. Temp.: Tmeas = 1578°C
Ic = Icl +
Icu − Icl
Tu − Tl
∗
(
Tmeas − Tl
)
= 4mA +
20mA − 4mA
2000°C − 1000°C
∗
(
1578°C − 1000°C
)
= 13.248mA
