The table below describes the parameters you can configure in the RADIUS: Global Settings
screen.
4.8.6.2 RADIUS: Servers
This page enables you to configure multiple, redundant Remote Authentication Dial-In
User Service (RADIUS) servers.

Field Name Field Value
Authentication
Port:
The UDP port used to communicate to the RADIUS server that is
configured for authentication.
Default value = 1812
Valid Range = 0 - 65536
Challenge Type: The protocol to be used when validating user credentials. It can
take the following values:
PAP – Username/password sent in the clear (default).
CHAP – Uses challenge and MD5 hash.
User
Authentication
Control:
This parameter determines whether the system uses its own
local user database or a RADIUS server for authentication. It
can take the following values:
Local Database – use the local user database (default).
RADIUS – use a configured RADIUS server.
Default Privilege
Level:
This parameter determines the default privilege level assigned
to a user when a RADIUS server does not provide vendor-
specific attributes. It can take the following values:
No Access (default)
Read-Only
Read-Write
Administrator
