12.0 Service
The GA5000 gas analyser should be regularly serviced to ensure correct and accurate
operation. Geotech recommends a service and recalibration every 6 months.
The GA5000 range is ATEX certified for use in potentially explosive areas. As such it should
be serviced only by qualified engineers. Failure to observe this will result in the warranty
becoming invalid and could invalidate the ATEX certification.
If the GA5000 is serviced by unqualified engineers the ATEX
certification may be invalidated and the instrument may be unsafe
for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
User serviceable parts:
There are no user serviceable parts inside the instrument.
The following parts can be user serviced:
This should be regularly inspected for obstructions, moisture
or damage and changed if needed. The instrument should
never be operated without the in-line water filter as this
may result in water entering the instrument.
Always ensure that sample tubes are not contaminated or
damaged.
Periodically check that the O-rings on the gas port
connectors are not damaged. A damaged O-ring can let air
into the sample gas and result in incorrect readings. If the
O-ring is damaged the complete gas port connector should
be replaced.
When the filter material changes colour to a light grey colour
the filter should be replaced.
