Calibration The basics
With calibration, the sensitivity of the unbalance measuring sys-
tem is adjusted to the signals of the encoders in the machine. The
signal magnitudes and phases are assigned to the calibration un-
balances, which are attached to the test rotor.
Calibration mode
- path measuring
A basic calibration for all rotor types and, in addition, individual ro-
tor-specific calibrations for every rotor type.
- force measuring
A basic calibration for all rotor types.
- global path measuring
A basic calibration for all rotor types.
The decision as to which measuring method to use depends on
the machine, on which the measuring device is to be operated.
The following definitions are used in the unbalance measuring
system configuration:
Test rotor
A test rotor, to which an unbalance mass of a precisely-defined
size and in a known angle can be attached, is used for calibration.
The test rotor should be balanced to a minimum residual unbal-
ance. This unbalance is defined in a test run and taken into ac-
count during calibration.
The test rotor is calibrated by the use of a known test mass (ap-
prox. 10 times the permitted residual unbalance) per plane at a
defined radius and with the corresponding angle.
INFORMATION
If no test rotor is available, or if it is not possible to modify any
component of the series so that a calibration mass can be at-
tached, then the calibration can also be carried out with a similar
