4 Basic Operation
To work with the program, you should be familiar with
the Windows environment. For questions regarding
menu commands, dialogue boxes, scroll bars or oth-
er elements of the user interface, please read the
Windows literature.
Do not make any changes to the Windows

Desktop.
This includes changes to the background, the screen
saver and the power management, as well as the rep-
resentation and display settings.
Alterations can endanger unbalance measuring sys-
tem functions.
Description of operating sequences
Operating sequences with several successive
key strokes are often shown in this manual in
the following abbreviated fashion:

Main Menu \ Machine Performance Counters \
New Shift...
has the following full meaning:
Open Main Menu, press "Machine Perfor-
mance Counters" key, press "New Shift..." key.
4.1 Operator Controls
4.1.1 Touch Screen
The screen has a touch sensitive surface. Active ar-
eas are labelled with their associated functions.
Perform any action on the screen with fingertips
or with a special touch screen pen.
Do not use a hard object (ballpoint pen etc.). This
could damage the touch screen surface.
To carry out an action
Press the appropriate key area.
