Background gas is present.

Connect the purge inlet to a clean air supply.

A calibration gas cylinder is connected to the purge inlet.

Disconnect the calibration gas cylinder from the purge inlet, and connect the

cylinder to a gas inlet. See Connect a Calibration Gas Cylinder.
